Location - New Zealand is situated in the Pacific Ocean, it is 2,162 kms (1,343 miles) off of the East Coast of Australia.  New Zealand is divided into two main Islands - the North and South Island.  With a total land area of 270,000 square kms it is slightly bigger than the United Kingdom.  Over three-quarters of the countries population live in the North Island with a very large percentage of those living in or around Auckland, the largest city.

Environment - Stunning rugged landscapes, beautiful beaches, vast mountain ranges, spectacular geothermal and volcanic activity, a temperate climate and fascinating animal and plant life. All of these things make New Zealand so attractive to visitors.  A third of the country is protected in parks and reserves, there are 14 national parks.  This great diversity is what gives New Zealanders the unique lifestyle they enjoy, from sun kissed beaches to snow capped mountains, New Zealand has it all

Climate - The subtropical north and the temperate south make New Zealand a land of contrasting weather patterns.  The warmest months are December, January and February, when you can expect temperatures of between 20-30?C.  It is coldest in June, July and August when you can expect the average temperature to be between 10-15?C.  There are graphical differences to the temperatures so for example during winter months you could expect the average temperature in Queenstown to be only between 1-10?C, quite a bit below the national average.  The weather in New Zealand can change unexpectedly so it pays to always be prepared!

Immigration - The immigration laws change frequently so if you are thinking of moving to New Zealand permanently you should first refer to the Immigration New Zealand website where you will find all the information you need.  If you require further information please get in touch with us and if necessary we will put you in contact with an immigration agent.
